Everything we do is aimed toward creating the most outstanding (and straightforward) author experience possible. We constantly ask “why?” when designing our processes & protocols:
Why can’t we significantly reduce production time without sacrificing quality?
(We can, we have)
Why can’t we tailor comprehensive, bespoke, technologically advanced & innovative marketing campaigns for every book we publish?
(We can, we will)
Why can’t we be constantly open to changing processes or protocols when a unique situation arises?
(We are)
Production Process
We keep our proposal documents simple & straightforward so you can concentrate on the actual writing of the book. Contact us via the Live Chat function or email info@sequoia-books.com to receive our guidelines.
You’ll hear a decision on the proposal within two days of sending.
Once accepted, you’ll be sent a contract from Sequoia books outlining royalties, delivery date (as agreed between you & us) and all of the other legal stuff, which we’d be very happy to explain & work out the best contract for you.
Your manuscript is now joyfully complete & sent in by the agreed delivery date (while this is wonderful & always appreciated, we also understand that sometimes life gets in the way & are always happy to discuss extensions).
Your book will be fully copy edited by a professional editor. The typesetters will then put together the internal layout, proofs of which will be sent to you for checking.
While we always have to factor in the potential for unforeseen circumstances, assuming all runs smoothly, manuscript delivery to publication should be three months.
Your book will be sold globally via Amazon & physical bookstores in both print and e-book format. We use the global distribution of Ingram and Gardners & their relationships with all major chains, making your title available to over 39,000 bookshops worldwide.
The short answer is yes, absolutely. The reason we say this is because we imagine that if we were the authors, we’d want to, too. We are committed to open discussion over covers & can make one full guarantee, that we would never publish a book without final sign off from the author.
I have published many books with many publishers over the last 2 decades, and Andy was and still is my absolute favourite editor. He is very much an author’s editor who works collaboratively and effectively with the author toward a mutual goal. I’m extremely excited to see a new publishing company based around his unique ethos. I strongly recommend Sequoia Books to any potential author
